TTL (Time to Live)

TTL, or Time to Live, in the context of web hosting and DNS (Domain Name System), refers to the lifespan of data in a network. In DNS, TTL is a setting for each DNS record that specifies how long a resolver is supposed to cache the DNS query before the query needs to be refreshed. Lower TTL values mean that changes to DNS records propagate more quickly, but require more frequent DNS lookups, which can increase load on DNS servers. TTL is crucial for managing how DNS updates are disseminated across the internet.
